Professional Profile
Dr Mark Donaldson graduated from Auckland Medical School in 1986 and completed his Ophthalmic Specialist training at Wellington Hospital in 1998.
Mark gained valuable expert experience at the Western Ophthalmic Hospital, London and at the Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Warwickshire. During his two years abroad he acquired detailed exposure to glaucoma management, cataract and glaucoma surgery, and diseases of the macula, especially diabetic macular oedema and age related macular degeneration.
Mark has completed research projects, which have been published in international journals and he presents his research findings at both local and international meetings.
In addition to his clinic in Warkworth he is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Greenlane Public Hospital and a founding member of the Eye Doctors group of ophthalmologists based at Ascot Hospital in central Auckland.
Mark was delighted to perform the first cataract surgery at the Rodney Surgical Centre (RSC) in Warkworth in 2010 and since then has been privileged to restore sight to hundreds of people with cataracts.
