Mr Chris Powell is a UK trained plastic surgeon. He graduated from the University of Bristol Medical School in the UK in 2001. He undertook his junior surgical and plastic surgical training in a number of London teaching hospitals before completing his senior plastic surgical training in Exeter and Bristol in Southwest England.
From 2015 to 2017 Chris completed higher specialist training fellowships in Hand and Wrist Surgery (St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia), Reconstructive Microsurgery (Leeds General Infirmary, UK) and Cosmetic Surgery (The London Clinic, UK)
He held consultant posts at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Wexham Park Hospital in the UK for 4 years before coming to New Zealand in March 2021 and taking up a post as consultant plastic surgeon in Whangarei Hospital, Northland. He has spent a year working with David Crabb, mastering his fat transfer technique, and is now the principal surgeon at Northland Plastic Surgery.
Mr Powell is a keen teacher and has regularly been part of the invited faculty on national and international courses training the next generation of surgeons.
