Focused on the Rodney/Kaipara/Hibiscus Coast regions, Rodney Surgical is a certified facility offering day stay surgical procedures, with state of the art operating and procedure rooms.

In an area of high growth, the centre is the only surgical hospital located between Auckland and Whangarei. The facility was opened in 2009 and is easily accessible for patients and there are over 40 free car parks right outside the front door.

Rodney Surgical currently holds contracts with Health NZ as well as an elective surgery contract with Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). We also have Southern Cross Affiliated Provider contracts for a range of services.

How to be a part of Rodney Surgical?

We are always looking to expand our surgical options for patients. We can offer you:

  • Operating room time
  • Procedure room time
  • Administration and secretarial services
  • Introduction to local GPs and the opportunity to share your knowledge with them in our regular CME sessions
  • Access to Rodney Surgical’s Referrer’s Assistant – this service has been used by GPs for a number of years and covers all procedures.
  • Advertising of your services via our website, Rodney Surgical’s Healthpoint portal, and health pages advertising and our newsletter.
  • Regular profiling in our newsletter to keep GPs informed of new specialists and procedures.
  • Additional advertising in print and digital formats as well as on our social media pages.
  • Collegial support from our Clinical Board for consultants new to new private practice.
  • Access to Clinical Board for consultation and support.

Credentialing

All specialists must be credentialed to perform any procedures at Rodney Surgical. To facilitate access Rodney Surgical is aligned with the credentialing from Southern Cross and Mercy/Ascot Hospitals. We require your:

  • Credentialing letter
  • Two references
  • Indemnity insurance
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate(APC) and
  • Completed RSC credentialing application.
